More updates!
They’re not, like…massive updates. But still, it’s progress.
A new chapter for my creepy Lady Serial-Killer
And a new chapter for my creepy Lady Undead-American
…I think I’m noticing a trend in my fiction…
-
Something actually updated?
The first of many, I hope. A new chapter of that weird, repetitive thing I started forever ago.
Going to try and get another couple chapters of things out after an exam tomorrow. Lord knows I’ll need something to distract me from my abysmal grades.

How big is your total wordcount?
I’ve heard from several authors and websites that many people really start getting good once they’ve reached one million words.
Take the wordcount of every story you’ve ever written and add it up. Does it fall short? There’s nothing wrong with that. You just haven’t lived long enough yet to reach a million at your own pace. Get writing.
Does it reach a million?
Then proclaim from the rooftops how awesome you are because you deserve it.
Right, so, a little work with some scrap paper and a calculator…
About 1.28 million, give or take a few thousand. And that’s not including some things I’ve lost over time thanks to computer troubles. Not too shabby.
Hoping to increase that shortly, now I’m finishing up school stuff for a time…

Describe your posture.
Phi: It depends on what sort of message I’m trying to send. If I have to play it up to people…back straight, shoulders squared, chin up. Communicate power, but with enough grace that you don’t look like a thug out to kick someone in the neck.
If I’m just walking in the city, then I allow myself to relax a little. Hands in my pockets, loosen up the shoulders and neck. I tend to give off enough ‘don’t f*** with me’ that I don’t have to go out of my way to show it. It’s as much in how you move as it is in how you stand. Confidence, right?

Character prompt #1
Create a character who wants to become an elevator operator.
The hum of the motors, that feeling of gravity slipping away, then pressing down on your shoulders…I can never get enough of it. And I grin, as I ride up to the twentieth floor, my application and references tucked neatly in the folder beneath my arm.
With a familiar ‘ding’, the door opens, and the operator announces the floor, adjusting his cuff and the clean, white glove. I step off with the sort of confidence that you can only have when you know you’re ready for something.
I’ve studied the building, I know the history, and I’m entirely familiar with the technology. I’m as prepared as anyone could be.
Today is most definitely the day…
(Jared Paris, 27, has always loved elevators. From the time he was little, they completely fascinated him. The idea of being paid to use them all day, and to play tour-guide to new and interesting people? To good to resist.
And so, Jared’s greatest wish is to become…an Elevator Operator.
Yea, so it’s not that impressive. But you’ve got to admire his enthusiasm.)

You are now sick.
How sick are you likely to get?
Does someone take care of you?
How do you react to being sick?
Ophelia: Ugh…no. No way. I’m not putting up with this for a whole week. *Sniffle* Where’s the number for that f***ing healer?
(Phi really wouldn’t let herself stay sick, if there was an option that would get her better in an hour or two. Given that she hates being vulnerable/doesn’t really have anyone else to take care of her, actually ‘being sick’ for any length of time is unacceptable.)

What are your turn-offs?
Oh skies, Phi has so many of them. People who talk to much about things that she considers unimportant (anything involving problems that can’t be solved/things that aren’t problems to be solved). People who can’t solve their own problems, but also don’t seek help for them, are a major thing. Pettiness. Also, being called out on hypocrisy, since it implies she doesn’t know exactly what she’s doing.

Let’s start things off sizzling:
What are your character’s turn ons? How do they react to said turn ons?
Gonna give this a shot, this week. Using Ophelia, who I’ve only really mentioned a couple times, here.
Phi’s turn ons…power, and control. Having it, not losing it. Also, things and people that she considers to be hers. People that she can provide for/protect/take care of are usually attractive to her, even if the feeling can’t always be called ‘romantic’.

NaNoWriMo Thingamajig
Oh God, what am I doing?
I don’t have the time/dedication to start another thing that will require effort!
Except I kinda already am.
My Profile. Because I dunno why.

Alex Jones
I love it when a character blossoms out of nowhere. And even though I’m just getting to know her, Alex is certainly growing on me. Which is weird, considering this whole thing was just meant to be a random thing. Didn’t really intend to get invested…
Meh.
Here’s a new point of view in my Serial Killer story.
-
New stuff!
Well, one new thing. And a continuation of another thing.
Five Walls, a thing that is really vague so far. I have…literally no idea where it came from.
Also, a new chapter of Blood Sings to Her. Bea meets another interesting thingamajig. This one isn’t a cat.
-
A kitty! And a little killing.
-
AliValentine - Prologue
-
Another new thing (because reasons)
I really need to learn to finish off one story-type-thing before starting something else. Seriously.
Ugh…
Anyway, soon to be relevant thing about Revenants. Wall of text ahead.

I made a serial killer!
